The Whole Law
the practice, for anyone
Inside the book, the law fits on one page. Here it is, free, forever. You can run it with a friend, a stranger, a dinner table, a classroom, a long drive. It is a machine for one real conversation.
One. Choose a kind of person to find — or take today’s. Not a costume, a condition: someone who did something before they felt ready. Someone who keeps a promise nobody checks on.
Two. Don’t go looking for the answer. Go looking for the person. Live your ordinary life. Talk normally. Listen. You will know.
Three. When you have found them, ask if you may keep what they said. If they agree, write it down and show them. Change anything they ask you to change. Their words are theirs; you are only the keeper.
Four. Tell them why. The sentence that never fails: “This stayed with me because you said it.” Watch what happens to a person’s face when they learn their words were carried.
That is the whole law. Everything else is just kindness.
Why it works: people are not found by questions. They are found by attention. The condition doesn’t tell you who to talk to — it changes how you listen to everyone. That is the entire secret of the book, and now it’s yours.
← back to the handsThis page will never ask you for anything.
No account. No list. It only gives.
