Every day this page deals one hand — drawn from the hundred inside the book — and it is the same for every person on earth who opens it. Somewhere, strangers you will never meet are carrying the same sentence through their day. At midnight it is gone, and no one ever gets it again.

How to carry it: don’t go looking for the answer. Go looking for the person. Live your ordinary day. Talk normally. Listen. If you find them — and most days you will, because they were always there — ask if you may keep what they said. Write it down anywhere: a receipt, a phone, a wrist.

That’s the entire practice. The book does this a hundred times with one moving copy. You can do it today with nothing.

Come back tomorrow. The earth gets a new hand at midnight.
